83:1) A song. A Psalm by Asaf.
82:2) `Elohiym, do not keep silent.
Do not keep silent,
And do not be still, `El.
83:3) For, behold, your enemies are stirred up.
Those who hate you have lifted up their heads.
83:4) They conspire with cunning against your people.
They plot against your cherished ones.
83:5) “Come,” they say, “and let us destroy them as a nation,
That the name of Yisra’el may be remembered no more.”
83:6) For they have conspired together with one mind.
They form an alliance against you.
83:7) The tents of Edom and the Yishme`elim;
Mo’av, and the Hagrim;
83:8) Geval, `Ammon, and `Amalek;
Peleshet with the inhabitants of Tzor;
83:9) Ashshur also is joined with them.
They have helped the children of Lot. Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Selah
83:10) Do to them as you did to Midyan,
As to Sisera, as to Yavin, at the river Kishon;
83:11) Who perished at `En-Dor,
Who became as dung for the earth.
83:12) Make their nobles like `Orev and Ze’ev;
Yes, all their princes like Zevach and Tzalmunnah;
83:13) Who said, “Let us take possession of `Elohiym’s pasturelands.”
83:14) My God, make them like tumbleweed;
Like chaff before the wind.
83:15) As the fire that burns the forest,
As the flame that sets the mountains on fire,
83:16) So pursue them with your tempest,
And terrify them with your storm.
83:17) Fill their faces with confusion,
That they may seek your name, Yahua.
83:18) Let them be disappointed and dismayed forever.
Yes, let them be confounded and perish;
83:19) That they may know that you alone, whose name is Yahua,
Are Ha`Elyon over all the earth.
The apple does not fall far from the tree.
We have a large Bramley apple tree at the bottom of our garden. Due to the weather throughout the year, especially a mild, wind-free autumn, this year there has been a bumper crop of apples. Due to them being on the tree for much longer than usual, there have been an abundance of large red apples.
Yahua `Elohiym spoke through His Ruach to my wife, with a message based upon these apples:
ai???I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.ai??? (John 15:5).Ai?? It is all about bearing fruit. There is an inherent promise in this verse: that anyone and everyone who abides in Messiah will bear fruit. Therefore, if there is a lack of spiritual fruit shown in a Believerai??i??s life, the degree of abiding or indwelling must be called into doubt. This is not doubting the salvation of a person, rather, it is what service the Believer is doing for Yahua that is called into question. Those juicy red Bramleys were a result of constant feeding from the tree through the branches. The longer the fruit remained attached to the tree, the larger it became.
ai???If a man does not remain in me, he is thrown out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them, throw them into the fire, and are burned.ai??? (John 15:6). Salvation is not the end product but Believers are saved in order to serve Yahua. For no one can lay any other foundation than that which has been laid, which is Messiah Yahshua. But if anyone builds upon the foundation with gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or stubble; each manai??i??s work will e revealed. For the Day will declare it because it is revealed in fire; and the fire itself will test what sort of work each manai??i??s work is. If any manai??i??s work remains which he built on, he will receive a reward. If any manai??i??s work is burned, he will suffer loss, but he himself will be saved, but as though through fire.ai??? (1 Cor. 3:11-15). All Believers will have their service carefully examined, and only that which has furthered the Kingdom of Yahua will survive.
Beloved, will your service pass such scrutiny? ai???Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the lawyer of this world? Has Yahua not made foolish the wisdom of this world?ai??? (1 Cor. 1:20). When the world looks at a fruit, it is the fleshy pulp that is attractive using words like juicy, plump and ripe. However, the fruit is only a means to develop the seed. It is the seed that is all-important.
ai???The earth brought forth grass, herbs yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit, with its seed in it, after their kind: and Yahua saw that it is good.ai??? (Gen. 1:12). Of all the Bramley apples from our tree, no two were alike in size, shape or colour. Nevertheless, they were all Bramleys, tasting the same, but more importantly, all bearing seeds that are capable of being a new Bramley apple tree.
When Believers abide in Yahua, they bear spiritual fruit. This may be in the form of a small localised service of help or encouragement or a massive global evangelical ministry. The size of the ministry is what the world considers as a measure of success. This is not the criteria under which Yahua examines a Believers ministry. As already mentioned, the importance is in the seed that is developed. All ministry must result in the Good News being preached and Messiah Yahshua being made known to non-Believers. The ministry does not necessarily have to be directly involved in evangelism. It may be in the support of the evangelist (teaching, encouragement, exhortation) but can also be in the congregation that supports the evangelist (worship leader, pastor or tea-lady).
Beloved, how does your service measure up? Does it bear fruit that produces seed after its kind; Messiah Yahshua?
If you are not a Believer, have you tasted the fruit of salvation, the seed of which is your Saviour, Messiah Yahshua? This fruit is for everyone who stretches out their hand to pluck the fruit that Father Yahua has made freely available. It is not free, as the cost was the death of His Son, Messiah Yahshua, available to all who want to turn back to Father and seek His forgiveness of sins through the death of His Son.
If you want to acceptAi??Fatherai??i??s offer of salvation through Messiah Yahshua, you need to ask Him in prayer along these lines. Use your own words but they must be genuine asAi??FatherAi??knows our very hearts and nothing is hidden from Him.
ai???Father, I am a sinner who needs forgiveness through your Son, Messiah Yahshua. Please forgive me of all my past sins as I accept that, Messiah Yahshua my Saviour, has taken upon Himself my punishment. By your Spirit, help me to live a life worthy of His sacrifice. Thank you,Ai??Father, for making this way back to you.ai???Ai??
Father, we thank you for the power of your Word and that Word was made flesh in Messiah Yahshua so that in believing in His Life, Death and Resurrection we may have eternal life with you.
ai???A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth.
The work of a man’s hands shall be rewarded to him.ai??? (Prov. 12:14).
Just a slight change in this week’s Word.
On 18th. Dec. 2017, I had a pituitary tumour removed. I came home yesterday. Prior to, during and after the operation, many Brothers and Sisters were praying for me. Below is a testimony to the efficacy of their prayers and praise to Father for bringing me through.
Grace and shalom be to you all.
Just to let you know that prayer works.
I cannot thank you all enough for your prayers, support and love that you have shown to Ann, my family and I over the last week or so. I will try to get around to more personal messages in the coming weeks but I had to drop you this e-mail as an encouragement to you all.
The outcome of the operation was never in doubt. I was in Fatherai??i??s hands and His will will be done. His purposes will not be thwarted.
I was due home Wednesday morning. I woke up and all was well. Slight headache, but this only to be expected due to the op. My head had to be fixed in a clamp to immobilise it for the procedure so it was tender and the pain was more due to this injury than the op. One of the possible problems is that brain fluid could leak out. Just as the doctors came around my nose started to weep. They could not tell if it was mucus or brain fluid until the lab ran tests. All I wanted was to be home for 23rd. as this is our ai???anniversaryai??i?? of when we met way back when. I was at a very low ebb. I had to continually to drink water to run blood tests and flush out the anaesthetic, and the day was governed by the four hourly pain medication, paracetamol.
That night, my head was pounding and I was not getting anywhere near four hourai??i??s pain relief. The four head clamp screw marks seemed to be worse. I was thinking over the many verses on healing but as the pain grew, I was having difficulty concentrating on Scripture verses. Eventually, all that I could quote was The Masterai??i??s Prayer (Luke 11:2-4) and Psalm 23. At times, I was not even able to finish a verse. I was looking forward to the pain relief that was due in an hour or so. It was then that I realised that my Master wore a crown of thorns that His suffering meant that I did not have to be defeated by pain. I had the prospect of medication to come: He only had the Cross to look forward to. That was His strength and it became mine. Instead of looking forward to my meds. I looked back to His stripes and wounds. My medication was only a temporary numbing of the senses: His wounds and the Cross was my victory in Him and it is permanent.
When I was passing through that deep, dark valley, I knew that my Saviour had gone ahead of me. I felt that I was borne along that path on the prayers of you all. How Father delights in the voices of His children! I also knew that, through His grace and your prayers the valley was not as deep, or dark or long as it could have been. I am now home with Ann and all praise to Him, we spent our ai???anniversaryai??i?? together in our home.
But I still had to travel the path to realise this. Some lessons Father teaches are easy, some more difficult.
At the end of the path, my Father had prepared for me a table. I used to ai???seeai??i?? on the table a cup of oil for anointing (James 5:14). This time, on that table was the matzah, the body of the Master broken for me and the Cup of Blessing with the Wine overflowing, the all-sufficient Blood that was shed for me. The table was between me and my enemy (of pain, despair and even the final enemy, death). It was as if Father was saying to all these ai???Hands of my child!ai???
ai???And they overcame it by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony;ai??? (Rev.12:11a). I was not able to offer up any form of witness, but I know that your prayers did it for me and the enemy was defeated. His blood had already been shed for me but it was also your prayers, offered up for me, that worked.
So, if anyone doubts that prayer works, please show them this e-mail.
Love and blessings to you all,
Father willing, we will gather again next Shabbat.
