Yom Teruah Shabbat Shalom!
74:14) You divided the sea by your strength.
You broke the heads of the sea monsters in the waters.
74:15) You broke the heads of Livyatan in pieces.
You gave him as food to people and desert creatures.
74:16) You opened up spring and stream.
You dried up mighty rivers.
74:17) The day is yours, the night is also yours.
You have prepared the light and the sun.
74:18) You have set all the boundaries of the earth.
You have made summer and winter.
74:19) Remember this, that the enemy has mocked you, Yahua.
Foolish people have blasphemed your name.
74:20) Do no deliver the soul of your dove to wild beasts.
Do no forget the life of your poor forever.
74:21) Honour your covenant,
For haunts of violence fill the dark places of the earth.
74:22) Do not let the oppressed return ashamed.
Let the poor and needy praise your name.
74:23) Arise, `Elohiym! Plead your own cause.
Remember how the foolish man mocks you all day.
74:24) Do not forget the voice of your adversaries.
The tumult of those who rise up against you ascends continually.
Ai??Death does not sound a trumpet
Yom Teruah (Day of Trumpets) is the first feast day of the Autumnal series of special days or mo`edim. It is a Shabbat which requires observing all that is done on a weekly Shabbat. Ten days after this feast is Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) and a further five days is Sukkot (Tabernacles/Booths).
ai???Speak to the Children of Yisraai??i??el, saying, ai???In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, shall be a solemn rest to you, a memorial of blowing of the trumpets, a set apart convocation.ai??i??ai??? (Lev. 23:24). This is a special Shabbat, one that can occur on any day of the week as it falls on the same date every year. On this day the blowing of trumpets is for a reminder to remind them of the giving of Torah on Mount Sinai and for the gathering of all the people represented by the tribal leaders. These trumpets are the thin silver ones (chatzotzarout) and not the ramai??i??s horn shofar.
ai???When you go to war in your own land against the adversary who oppresses you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets; and you shall be remembered before Yahua `Aloheykem, and you shall be saved from your enemies.ai??? (Num. 10:9). It is the belief at ATC that prior to Messiahai??i??s setting foot back on earth the following sequence of events will take place:
All Believers are snatched away (often called the Rapture);
Thirty-six months of false peace;
Abomination that causes desolation;
Thirty-five and a half months of Ya`akovai??i??s Troubles (Great Tribulation);
The significance of Yom Kippur and Sukkot will be discussed on their relative Shabbats.
Yom Teruah is an alarm call for the nation of Yisra`el. They need to waken up from the spiritual slumber of the last two millennia; to realise the state of their corporate sin. Beloved, as Believers are grafted-in to the Commonwealth of Yisra`el, Yom Teruah is also a wake-up call, for us to take stock of our spiritual state.
Beloved, how do we stand in light of Torah? Can you say as the hymn writer penned ai???All is well with my soul?ai??i??
If you do not know what your spiritual state is, then you cannot answer this last question. Do you not know that you are a sinner and destined for eternal punishment in Hell? In need of a Saviour because you are not able to do anything about it? Then you must seek Yahuaai??i??s mercy while it is still available.
Take Yom Teruah as your own personal wake-up call. Blessed is the person who knows that they are terminally ill and have the opportunity to make things right with Yahua `Elohiym and family and friends before their death. For them, death has given them a wake-up call with some taking the opportunity but many doing nothing.Ai?? Unfortunately, Hell is full of good people who will do something about it ….tomorrow; and we all know tomorrow never comes. ai???But Yahua said to him, ai???You foolish one, tonight your soul is required of you…ai??i??ai??? (Luke 12:20). It may be the result of a fatal accident, murder, heart attack, stroke or aneurism but the end comes sudden. For these people, death has not blown its trumpet. For those who have been diagnosed as having a terminal condition, death has been kind.
WARNING! It has been said that upon conception, the little person has been diagnosed with a terminal condition: it is called life. Therefore, the vast majority of adults have no excuse when they stand before their Maker on Judgement Day, saying that they did not know.
If you want to acceptAi??Fatherai??i??s offer of salvation through Messiah Yahshua, you need to ask Him in prayer along these lines. Use your own words but they must be genuine asAi??FatherAi??knows our very hearts and nothing is hidden from Him.
ai???Father, I am a sinner who needs forgiveness through your Son, Messiah Yahshua. Please forgive me of all my past sins as I accept that, Messiah Yahshua my Saviour, has taken upon Himself my punishment. By your Spirit, help me to live a life worthy of His sacrifice. Thank you,Ai??Father, for making this way back to you.ai???Ai??
Father, we thank you for the power of your Word and that Word was made flesh in Messiah Yahshua so that in believing in His Life, Death and Resurrection we may have eternal life with you.
ai???There is a way which seems right to a man,
But in the end it leads to death.ai??? (Prov. 14:12).
Please note the coming special days of Yahua.
