Only when we are no longer afraid do we begin to live.
When I was growing up, I had a terrible fear of wasps. It was easy to track back and find out from where this fear comes: as a young lad, I was stung and had an allergic reaction. Any time a wasp came near me, my arms flapped like their wings, and away I would scuttle. When my first child was born, I was not free to run if I was carrying the baby, but I had to consciously grit my teeth. Over time I came to not worry so much, realising that the wasps were not after me and, if I left them alone, they would leave me alone.
There was a television programme that was examining innate reactions to various pictures. The subjects were wired up to a brainwave recording device. The researcher showed the reaction to a picture of a butterfly and then a hornet. The butterfly picture caused a decrease in activity with the hornet showing a dramatic spike. Similar responses were noted for pictures of a puppy and a snake. Although fear can be a totally debilitating state, just look at what happens to a rabbit caught in headlights, it is designed to keep a person healthy. Fear is designed to produce the hormone, adrenalin in preparation for fight or flight.
There is one fear that is vital for our wellbeing. “This is the end of the matter. All has been heard. Fear Yahuah, and keep His commandments; for this is the whole duty of man.” (Ecc. 12:13). This fear is not raised in order for a person to turn and run away, and is certainly not meant to cause a person to fight with Yahuah. Our loving, heavenly Father has built this into the human spirit that draws a person closer to Him. It is more rightly called a reverend fear. This is an act of worship and veneration to Yahuah, born out of the awe and wonderment for who He is. It is the same kind of fear that an obedient child has for its earthly father, not wanting to disappoint or hurt the parent. It is, in fact, an act of love not because of who the father is or what he has done, but purely because he is the father.
In the above verse, the fear is linked to the obedience to Yahuah’s commandments, not because of the fear of reprisals, but because of our love to Him.
Father, we thank you for the power of your Word and that Word was made flesh in Messiah Yahshua so that in believing in His Life, Death and Resurrection we may have eternal life with you.
If you want to accept Father’s offer of salvation through Messiah Yahshua, you need to ask Him in prayer along these lines. Use your own words but they must be genuine as Father knows our very hearts and nothing is hidden from Him.
“Father, I am a sinner who needs forgiveness through your Son, Messiah Yahshua. Please forgive me of all my past sins as I accept that, Messiah Yahshua my Saviour, has taken upon Himself my punishment. By your Spirit, help me to live a life worthy of His sacrifice. Thank you, Father, for making this way back to you.”
If you have honestly said such a prayer as these, and truely renounced the sin in your life and accepted Father’s salvation through Messiah Yahshua, then please drop us an e-mail at ATC to let us know. This not only builds up our faith, it offers an opportunity to prayfully support you. Even if you have Believing friends or family, we at ATC would be privileged to pray for you. “The fear of Yahuah is the beginning of knowledge;
But the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.” (Prov. 1:7).
Our Saviour welcomes all His Family to join in this memorial. If you have accepted Messiah Yahshua as your Master and Saviour please take the next few moments to seek Father and to ensure that all is right between Him and you and between you and your Brothers and Sisters. If not, please put this right before continuing.
If you have not yet accepted Him into your life, then we encourage you to seek Him while it is still possible, as time is running out. When He returns or if you pass away then it will be too late. Please do not partake of the bread and wine as in doing so, it gives thanks for the broken body (bread) and shed blood (wine) for and a witness of salvation.
On the night of the Master’s betrayal, He took the bread, blessed it and broke it saying ‘This is my Body broken for you; take and eat it as a memorial to Me.’
Bless the bread saying: Blessed are you, O Yahuah our `Elohiym, King of the universe, who brings forth bread from the earth.
Break and eat the bread (sharing it if within a group setting):
After the meal He took the Cup of Blessing, blessed it saying ‘This is my Blood poured out for you for the remission of sins; take and drink it as a memorial to me.’
Bless the wine saying: Blessed are you, O Yahuah our `Elohiym, King of the universe, who creates the fruit of the vine.
Drink the wine (sharing it if within a group setting):
Thanksgiving prayer: Blessed are you, O Yahuah our `Elohiym, King of the universe, who gives us, in Yahshua, all that we will ever need. In your lovingkindness and mercy, you rebuild broken lives. You bless us, in Yahshua, with a perfect blessing. Ameyn.
