86:1) A Prayer by David.
86:2) Hear, Yahuah, and answer me,
For I am poor and needy.
86:3) Preserve my soul, for I am godly.
You, my `Elohiym, save your servant who trusts in you.
86:4) Be merciful to me, Master,
For I call to you all day long.
86:5) Bring joy to the soul of your servant,
For to you, Master, do I lift up my soul.
86:6) For you, Master, are good, and ready to forgive;
Abundant in lovingkindness to all those who call on you.
86:7) Hear, Yahuah, my prayer.
Listen to the voice of my petitions.
86:8) In the day of my trouble I will call on you,
For you will answer me.
86:9) There is no one like you among the gods, Master,
Nor any deeds like your deeds.
86:10) All nations you have made will come and worship before you, Master.
They shall glorify your name.
86:11) For you are great, and do wondrous things.
You are `Elohiym alone.
86:12) Teach me your way, Yahuah.
I will walk in your truth.
Make my heart undivided to fear your name.
86:13) I will praise you, Master my `Elohiym, with my whole heart.
I will glorify your name forevermore.
86:14) For your lovingkindness is great toward me.
You have delivered my soul from the lowest She’ol.
86:15) O `Elohiym, the proud have risen up against me.
A company of violent men have sought after my soul,
And they do not hold regard for you before them.
86:16) But you, Master, are a merciful and gracious `El,
Slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness and truth.
86:17) Turn to me, and have mercy on me!
Give your strength to your servant.
Save the son of your handmaid.
86:18) Show me a sign of your goodness,
That those who hate me may see it, and be shamed,
Because you, Yahuah, have helped me, and comforted me.
The apple does not fall far from the tree.
We have a large Bramley apple tree at the bottom of our garden. Due to the weather throughout the year, especially a mild, wind-free autumn, this year there has been a bumper crop of apples. Due to them being on the tree for much longer than usual, there have been an abundance of large red apples.
Yahuah `Elohiym spoke through His Ruach to my wife, with a message based upon these apples:
ai???I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.ai??? (John 15:5). Ai??It is all about bearing fruit. There is an inherent promise in this verse: that anyone and everyone who abides in Messiah will bear fruit. Therefore, if there is a lack of spiritual fruit shown in a Believerai??i??s life, the degree of abiding or indwelling must be called into doubt. This is not doubting the salvation of a person, rather, it is what service the Believer is doing for Yahuah that is called into question. Those juicy red Bramleys were a result of constant feeding from the tree through the branches. The longer the fruit remained attached to the tree, the larger it became.
ai???If a man does not remain in me, he is thrown out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them, throw them into the fire, and are burned.ai??? (John 15:6). Salvation is not the end product but Believers are saved in order to serve Yahua. For no one can lay any other foundation than that which has been laid, which is Messiah Yahshua. But if anyone builds upon the foundation with gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or stubble; each manai??i??s work will e revealed. For the Day will declare it because it is revealed in fire; and the fire itself will test what sort of work each manai??i??s work is. If any manai??i??s work remains which he built on, he will receive a reward. If any manai??i??s work is burned, he will suffer loss, but he himself will be saved, but as though through fire.ai??? (1 Cor. 3:11-15). All Believers will have their service carefully examined, and only that which has furthered the Kingdom of YahuahAi??will survive.
Beloved, will your service pass such scrutiny? ai???Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the lawyer of this world? Has Yahuah not made foolish the wisdom of this world?ai??? (1 Cor. 1:20). When the world looks at a fruit, it is the fleshy pulp that is attractive using words like juicy, plump and ripe. However, the fruit is only a means to develop the seed. It is the seed that is all-important.
ai???The earth brought forth grass, herbs yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit, with its seed in it, after their kind: and Yahuah saw that it is good.ai??? (Gen. 1:12). Of all the Bramley apples from our tree, no two were alike in size, shape or colour. Nevertheless, they were all Bramleys, tasting the same, but more importantly, all bearing seeds that are capable of being a new Bramley apple tree.
When Believers abide in Yahuah, they bear spiritual fruit. This may be in the form of a small localised service of help or encouragement or a massive global evangelical ministry. The size of the ministry is what the world considers as a measure of success. This is not the criteria under which Yahuah examines a Believers ministry. As already mentioned, the importance is in the seed that is developed. All ministry must result in the Good News being preached and Messiah Yahshua being made known to non-Believers. The ministry does not necessarily have to be directly involved in evangelism. It may be in the support of the evangelist (teaching, encouragement, exhortation) but can also be in the congregation that supports the evangelist (worship leader, pastor or tea-lady).
Beloved, how does your service measure up? Does it bear fruit that produces seed after its kind; Messiah Yahshua?
If you are not a Believer, have you tasted the fruit of salvation, the seed of which is your Saviour, Messiah Yahshua? This fruit is for everyone who stretches out their hand to pluck the fruit that Father Yahuah has made freely available. It is not free, as the cost was the death of His Son, Messiah Yahshua, available to all who want to turn back to Father and seek His forgiveness of sins through the death of His Son.
If you want to acceptAi??Fatherai??i??s offer of salvation through Messiah Yahshua, you need to ask Him in prayer along these lines. Use your own words but they must be genuine asAi??FatherAi??knows our very hearts and nothing is hidden from Him.
ai???Father, I am a sinner who needs forgiveness through your Son, Messiah Yahshua. Please forgive me of all my past sins as I accept that, Messiah Yahshua my Saviour, has taken upon Himself my punishment. By your Spirit, help me to live a life worthy of His sacrifice. Thank you,Ai??Father, for making this way back to you.ai???
Father, we thank you for the power of your Word and that Word was made flesh in Messiah Yahshua so that in believing in His Life, Death and Resurrection we may have eternal life with you.
ai???When calamity overtakes you like a storm,
When your disaster comes on like a whirlwind;
When distress and anguish come on you.
Then will they call on me, but I will not answer.
They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me;
Because they hated knowledge,
And did not choose the fear of Yahuah.
They wanted none of my counsel.
They despised all my reproof.
Therefore they will eat of the fruit of their own way,
And be filled with their own schemes.ai??? (Prov. 1:27-31).
Our Saviour welcomes all His Family to join in this memorial. If you have accepted Messiah Yahshua as your Master and Saviour please take the next few moments to seek Father and to ensure that all is right between Him and you and between you and your Brothers and Sisters. If not, please put this right before continuing.
If you have not yet accepted Him into your life, then we encourage you to seek Him while it is still possible, as time is running out. When He returns or if you pass away then it will be too late. Please do not partake of the bread and wine as in doing so, it gives thanks for the broken body (bread) and shed blood (wine) for and a witness of salvation.
On the night of the Masterai??i??s betrayal, He took the bread, blessed it and broke it saying ai???This is my Body broken for you; take and eat it as a memorial to Me.ai??i??
Bless the bread saying: Blessed are you, O Yahuah our `Elohiym, King of the universe, who brings forth bread from the earth.
Break and eat the bread (sharing it if within a group setting):
After the meal He took the Cup of Blessing, blessed it saying ai???This is my Blood poured out for you for the remission of sins; take and drink it as a memorial to me.ai??i??
Bless the wine saying: Blessed are you, O Yahuah our `Elohiym, King of the universe, who creates the fruit of the vine.
Drink the wine (sharing it if within a group setting):
Thanksgiving prayer: Blessed are you, O Yahuah our `Elohiym, King of the universe, who gives us, in Yahshua, all that we will ever need. In your lovingkindness and mercy, you rebuild broken lives. You bless us, in Yahshua, with a perfect blessing.
Father willing, we will gather again next Shabbat.
