78:32) When the anger of `Elohiym went up against them,
Killed some of the fattest of them,
And struck down the young men of Yisra’el.
78:33) For all this they still sinned,
And did not believe in His wondrous works.
78:34) Therefore he consumed their days in vanity,
And their years in terror.
78:35) When He killed them, then they inquired after Him.
They returned and sought `El earnestly.
78:36) They remembered that `Elohiym was their rock,
The El `Elyon their redeemer.
78:37) But they flattered him with their mouth,
And lied to him with their tongue.
78:38) For their heart was not right with Him,
Neither were they faithful in His covenant.
78:39) But He, being merciful, forgave iniquity, and did not destroy them.
Yes, many times He turned His anger away,
And did not stir up all His wrath.
78:40) He remembered that they were but flesh,
A wind that passes away, and does not come again.
78:41) How often they rebelled against Him in the wilderness,
And grieved Him in the desert!
78:42) They turned again and tempted `El,
And provoked the Set Apart One of Yisra’el.
78:43) They did not remember His hand,
Nor the day when He redeemed them from the adversary;
78:44) How He set His signs in Mitzrayim,
His wonders in the field of Tzo`an,
78:45) Turned their rivers into blood,
And their streams, so that they could not drink.
78:46) He sent among them swarms of flies, which devoured them;
And frogs, which destroyed them.
78:47) He gave also their increase to the caterpillar,
And their labour to the locust.
78:48) He destroyed their vines with hail,
Their sycamore-fig trees with frost.
78:49) He gave over their cattle also to the hail,
And their flocks to hot thunderbolts.
78:50) He threw on them the fierceness of his anger,
Wrath, indignation, and trouble,
And a band of angels of evil.
78:51) He made a path for His anger.
He did not spare their soul from death,
But gave their life over to the pestilence,
78:52) And struck all the firstborn in Mitzrayim,
The chief of their strength in the tents of Ham.
78:53) But he led forth his own people like sheep,
And guided them in the wilderness like a flock.Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai?? contd.)
Men trip not on mountains, they stumble on stones
ai???For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he has become guilty of all.ai??? (James 2:10). ATC believes in keeping all relevant laws, not in order to be saved, but because Yahua `Elohiym, who Believers call Father, takes great pleasure in our obedience. Not all laws are relevant to everybody in every place at every time. That is why it is vital to study Scripture to know which ones are applicable to you.
Unfortunately, when ai???Christiansai??i?? hear this, they fall back into the traditional trap thinking that they are ai???under grace and not the lawai??i??. Nevertheless, these same people ai???cherry-pickai??i?? those laws that they feel comfortable. They believe that the only laws that are relevant today are what are traditionally known as ai???The Ten Commandmentsai??i??. For instance, they think they obey ai???You shall not murder.ai??? (Exod. 20:13). Yet, how many get angry with other Believers. The Master warns that, ai???…everyone who is angry with his brother without cause shall be in danger of the judgement…ai???(Matt. 5:22). This is not a commandment, but what it is, is a hedge that protects a person from straying into dangerous areas. If anger can be kept out of a personai??i??s heart, it was less likely that the person would go on to murder.
Ask any ai???Christianai??i?? if they keep ai???The Ten Commandmentsai??i?? and all would say that they do. Yet they fail to keep Shabbat and put the day of rest onto a man-made tradition called ai???The Lordai??i??s Dayai??i??.
No such day exists in Scripture.
Beloved, do you keep ai???The Ten Commandmentsai??i??? Why? Are you unsure of your salvation (as many claim the reason others keep Torah) or blindly obey because Scripture (or tradition) tells you to do so? You must take a careful look at the reason that you obey these and not any others. Either you obey all of the relevant laws or you obey none of them! If you are selective in the commandments that you keep, you fall foul of all the law as explained in James 2:10. It is all well and done saying that you keep the ai???mainai??i?? commandments but ignore the rest, but it is the many ai???lesserai??i?? commandments that cause Believers to stumble.
If you have not yet accepted the offer of salvation that has been given through Messiah Yahshua, then you are indeed guilty of them all; murder, adultery, blasphemy, not shooing away a mother bird when you take her chicks! The penalty of a guilty verdict is an eternity in damnation. It is impossible to wipe out this penalty yet there is One who has taken the punishment upon Himself on our behalf. That person is Messiah Yahshua. He is the only way (John 14:6).
If you want to acceptAi??Fatherai??i??s offer of salvation through Messiah Yahshua, you need to ask Him in prayer along these lines. Use your own words but they must be genuine asAi??FatherAi??knows our very hearts and nothing is hidden from Him.
ai???Father, I am a sinner who needs forgiveness through your Son, Messiah Yahshua. Please forgive me of all my past sins as I accept that, Messiah Yahshua my Saviour, has taken upon Himself my punishment. By your Spirit, help me to live a life worthy of His sacrifice. Thank you,Ai??Father, for making this way back to you.ai???Ai??
Father, we thank you for the power of your Word and that Word was made flesh in Messiah Yahshua so that in believing in His Life, Death and Resurrection we may have eternal life with you.
ai???My son, let them not depart from your eyesai??i?? Keep sound wisdom and discretion;
So they will be life to your soul And grace to your neck.
Then you will walk safely in your way, And your foot will not stumble.ai??? (Prov. 3:21-23).
Father willing, we will gather again next Shabbat.
