Counting of the Omer ai??i?? Day 42
18:18) They came on me in the day of my calamity.
But Yahua was my support.
18:19) He brought me forth also into a large place.
He delivered me because He delighted in me.
18:20) Yahus has rewarded me according to my righteousness.
According to the cleanness of my hands has He recompensed me.
18:21) For I have kept the ways of Yahua,
And have not wickedly departed from my `Elohiym.
18:22) For all His ordinances were before me.
I did not put away His statutes from me.
18:23) I was also blameless with Him. I kept myself from my iniquity.
18:24) Therefore Yahua has rewarded me according to my righteousness,
According to the cleanness of my hands in His sight.
18:25) With the merciful you will show yourself merciful.
With the perfect Man, you will show yourself perfect.
18:26) With the pure, you will show yourself pure.
With the crooked, you will show yourself shrewd.
18:27) For you will save the afflicted people,
But the haughty eyes you will bring down.
18:28) For you will light my lamp that is Yahua.
My `Elohiym will light up my darkness.
18:29) For by you, I advance through a troop.
By my `Elohiym, I leap over a wall.
18:30) As for `El, His way is perect.
The word of Yahua is tried.
He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him.
18:31) For who is `Elowah, except Yahua? Who is a rock besides our `Elohiym,
18:32) The `El who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect?
18:33) He makes my feet like deerai??i??s feet,
And sets me on my high places.
18:34) He teaches me my hands to war;
So that my arms bend a bow of bronze.Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai?? (contd.)
Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai?? Prepare for the worst but hope for the best.
Hope is one of those words that have changed its meaning over the years (similar to love and forgiveness). Ask any child what they would like for their birthday and they would reply, ai???I hope to get a….(book, doll, games console, tablet). This parenthesis is also a sign of the times. No longer content with a small present, people want expensive gifts. Anyway, the point being is that modern usage makes it difficult to understand English translations of the Bible. The word ai???hopeai??i?? has the idea of a wish list; something that is desired but there is no certainty that it would happen. However, the biblical meaning of ai???hopeai??i?? is to wait with certain expectation that what has been promised will definitely come about.
Beloved, what is your hope? If you have said, ai???Messiah in you, the hope of glory.ai??? you have said well. Nevertheless, have you considered what this means?
ai???the mystery which has been hidden been hidden for ages and generations. However, now it has been revealed to His set apart ones, to whom Yahua was pleased to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Messiah in you, the hope of glory.ai??? (Col. 1:26, 27). Although this word, glory, has several meanings, Strong defines it as ai???the glorious condition of blessedness into which is appointed and promised that true Christians shall enter after their Saviourai??i??s return from heaven.ai??i?? This glory is what will become of all Believers and where it will take place i.e. to be as He is, where He is. This is not some sentimental wish; this is a promise from Father Himself.
Yet, what is the mystery, twice mentioned in this passage?
ai???having heard of your faith in Messiah Yahshua…because of the hope which is laid up for you in the heavens, whereof you heard before in the word of truth of the Good News…giving thanks to the Father, who made us fit to be partakers of the inheritance of the set apart ones in light; who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the Kingdom of His Son of His love in whom we have our redemption, the forgiveness of sins…yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you set apart and without blemish and blameless before the Father.ai??? (Col. 1:4-14).
The mystery, that which was hidden in full view of the Scriptures, is the Good News. There is absolutely nothing in this, or any other passage, that salvation is in anyway a result of what we have done, in full or in part!
The Lamb without blemish or blameless comes before Father to offer up those who have put their trusting faith in Him so that we can come before Father without blemish or blameless!
Beloved, I do believe Strongai??i??s definition falls short of the fullness of glory. We have it here and now! Did not the Saviour offer us up when we were saved? Does not our Saviour intercede even now on our behalf? Can we not now enter into Fatherai??i??s presence, boldly? We are called to be like Him, right now! We can have a small piece of glory here on earth as we mature and grow more and more like Messiah Yahshua.
What if you have not yet put your trust in the completed work of Messiah and the full promises of Yahua? What do you hope will happen to you after you have passed away? Do you believe that when you finally close your eyes, that is it? Or is it your hope that there is no God? That way there are no consequences or repercussions for the life you have led. The Bible has no significance to you even if you take a small time reading it. You are probably aware of, if not a subscriber to the saying ai???Eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we die.ai??i??
Unfortunately for you, this is a compilation of a couple of Bible verses:
ai???Then I commend mirth, because a man has no better thing under the sun, than to eat, and to drink and to be merry; for what will accompany him in his labour all the days of his life which has given him under the sun.ai??? (Ecc. 8:15).
ai???and behold, joy and gladness, killing oxen and killing sheep, eating flesh and drinking wine: let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die.ai??? (Isa. 22:13).
Now that is a good starting point. At least you know of and agree with a Bible verse. So what about all the other verses; are they relevant? Is it really your hope, your certain expectation, that there is no God and upon death just….nothing? Are you absolutely sure or is there just a little niggling doubt? Or is it just your ai???wish listai??i??? It is not a case of hedging your bets. ai???Do not be deceived. Yahua is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that will he also reap.ai??? (Gal. 6:7). Yahua knows the inner most secrets of our hearts and knows when a person is truly sorry for their sins, and relies on the promises of Yahua through Messiah Yahshua. Nevertheless, it is Fatherai??i??s desire that you share eternity with Him.
If you would only dare to hope!
If you want to accept Fatherai??i??s offer of salvation through Messiah Yahshua, you need to ask Him in prayer along these lines. Use your own words but they must be genuine as Father knows our very hearts and nothing is hidden from Him.
ai???Father, I am a sinner who needs forgiveness through your Son, Messiah Yahshua. Please forgive me of all my past sins as I accept that, Messiah Yahshua my Saviour, has taken upon Himself my punishment. By your Spirit, help me to live a life worthy of His sacrifice. Thank you, Father, for making this way back to you.ai???Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??
Father, we thank you for the power of your Word and that Word was made flesh in Messiah Yahshua so that in believing in His Life, Death and Resurrection we may have eternal life with you.
The Feast of Shavuot begins at sunset 11/06/2016. This will also be a Shabbat.
ai???The prospect of the righteous is joy, but the hope of the wicked will perish.ai??? (Prov. 10:28)
Father willing, we will gather again next Shabbat.
